We have been learning about...

Welcome to our bus station!

The children got the chance to decorate and paint their bus station too!

Chinese New Year celebrations!

Café role play

cafè role play will support children’s self-confidence and self-awareness, and help them learn to make decisions independently. This is a great opportunity to introduce new words and encourage children to put two words together while trying to make a conversation with others.

Shapes for our bus!

We have been using different kinds of 2D shapes to help our busy bus! Learning shapes not only helps children identify and organize visual information, it helps them learn skills in other curriculum areas including reading, math, and science. For example, an early step in understanding numbers and letters is to recognize their shape.

Building busy train stations

First time using gel pens!

Sorting vehicles into groups

The children have been sorting vehicles that are used on land, sea and in the air.

Funky fingers Christmas activity

This was a lovely fine motor skills Christmas activity. The children selected Christmas coloured pom-poms and other loose parts and decorated their Christmas tree!

Designing Christmas presents and wrapping them!

We have been designing our Christmas presents and we have also wrapped the junk modelling boxes, using Christmas wrapping paper.

Painting Baby Jesus!

This week we have been learning about the Christmas story. We have also been doing lots of exciting Christmas activities, such as painting baby Jesus.

Early marking skills

When children are making these early marks, they are practising holding a pencil and attempting to control their marks with their muscles. This enhances their physical development by improving their fine motor skills and helps to develop their hand-eye coordination.

Thinking and threading!

Threading activities helps children as they develop hand- eye coordination and fine motor skills. They are strengthening the muscles in their hands which will help them with drawing and writing. When children create or copy patterns they are learning about classification, and developing skills in noticing details.

Tracing activity

Tracing activities are a valuable tool for promoting fine motor skills, creativity, and learning.

Tissue paper craft

Tissue paper craft helps children to: Build fine motor skills – tearing and scrunching paper, using the glue stick and sticking paper onto the card all builds these important skills!

Pencil control activity

We have been practicing improving our pencil grip. This involves using ergonomic pencil grips, practicing with various drawing and writing activities, and providing guidance on hand positioning.
