Children will no longer be bringing home homework books. Instead, we are asking families to support regular practice using the fantastic online resources available to our children, all of which are free to use at home.

The main platforms are

Spelling Shed for spelling practice. Login details can be found in your child's reading record book. There is no need to download the app; you can simply use the website.

Times Tables Rock Stars (TTRS) for developing quick and confident recall of times tables. Most children are very familiar with TTRS and should know their login details.

Reading Plus for developing reading fluency, vocabulary, and, importantly, comprehension. Children read different texts and answer questions to demonstrate their understanding.

I would also love children to read a physical book every day. Please spend a few minutes talking to your child about their book too. Ask them what has happened, why a character behaved in a certain way, what they think might happen next, or what new words they have discovered. These conversations are incredibly valuable in helping children become confident readers who understand, remember, and think about what they are reading.
