Welcome to Year 1
We are nearly at the end of the school year. It has been a pleasure for us to teach your children this term and we are all now ready for a well-earned rest!
Friday, 14th July should see Sports Day at 1:30pm. Fingers crossed for fine weather! Please leave PE kits at school for this.
School reports have been written and will come home on Monday, 17th July. If you have any concerns about what has been written please come and speak to us.
We have collected in reading books now, but please continue to send reading bags as they are useful for taking things home in.
We had a fabulous day at Towneley Park on Tuesday, 4th July. All your children were exceptionally well-behaved and were a credit to you all.
When we arrived we were met by Graham who introduced us to lots of minibeasts, took us on a Minibeast hunt and showed us how to charm worms!
We had lunch and a run around behind Towneley Hall.
Then we went on the playground, which the locals had deserted - must have heard we were coming.
We finished the day with an ice cream or ice lolly in the rain. Perfect!
Routines: Try and keep to your child's normal bedtime routines during these lighter evenings. Many of your children are weary by the afternoon, but work is now faster paced in preparation for Year 2. Watch the weather - whilst it is tempting to leave coats at home the British weather is extremely changeable, so a light waterproof coat would be best this term.
