Build a marble run with straws.
Skittles experiment
The children started by placing the skittles around the white plate. Then they poured warm water in. The coloured coating and sugar started to dissolve and the colour spread to the middle, but didn't mix. They tried this again with cold water to compare how quickly the colour would dissolve.
