Library books

Library books are changed every Thursay. The library book is a book your child has chosen for you to enjoy together. Your child is not expected to read this on their own. Discuss the pictures, enjoy the story, predict what might happen next, use different voices for the characters, explore the facts in non-fiction books. The main thing is that you have fun and develop a love of books. 

PE

PE kits can be left in school and will be sent home at the end of every term to be washed. We will do indoor PE every Tuesday. Please ensure all clothing and pumps are clearly labelled with your child's name. Please remember that earrings must not be worn for PE and must be taken out on PE days. 

Phonics 

A reading practice book

This book will be carefully matched to your child's current reading level. If your child is reading this with little help, please don't worry that this is to easy - your child needs to develop confidence and fluency in reading. 

A sharing book 

In order to encourage your child to be a lifelong reader, it is important that they learn to read for pleasure. The sharing book is a book they have chosen for you to enjoy together. Your child is not expected to read this on their own. Discuss the pictures, enjoy the story, predict what might happen next, use different voices for the characters, explore the facts in non-fiction books. The main thing is that you have fun.
