Science

The 2014 National curriculum for science aims to ensure that all pupils;

  • Develop scientific knowledge and conceptual understanding through the specific disciplines of biology, chemistry and physics.
  • Develop understanding of nature, processes, and methods of science through different types of scientific enquiries that help them to answer questions about the world around them.
  • Are  equipped with the scientific skills requires to understand the uses and implications of science, today and for the future. We understand that it is important for lessons to have a skill-based focus, and that knowledge can be taught through this.

Our science curriculum ensures that pupils will be part of an inquisitive, inspiring and knowledge rich curriculum, which stimulates their natural curiosity. They will be encouraged to explore the world that we live in and will learn through a practical and enquiry based approach. Pupils will learn that scientists gain knowledge from the mistakes they make and this is how science evolves.
